A haiku is a Japanese form of poetry. It consists of three lines. The first one has five syllables, second has seven, and the third has five once again. While going crazy in the middle of our latest PCS saga, I started writing some of my own. Feel free to laugh and cry and share your own in the comments!

Ow, my toe is stubbed

Boots are my arch nemesis

And also, they stink

I like Daddy more

Okay, get in the box, kid

I hope you like sand

My dryer is dead

And where the heck are my keys

He left on Tuesday

Hey, let’s see the world

Not here though; this is the worst

Not this place, either

ID card in hand

Oh wait, that’s my credit card

I’ll just go die now

Sadness is a place

It’s called the commissary

Don’t go on payday

The movers packed trash

But not the china dishes

And where is my couch

Mandatory fun

Outside in 30 degrees

The Lord, He tests me

Let’s go to Disney

Or go to Iraq, that’s cool

I will watch Netflix

Here’s my POA

How can it be the wrong one?

I’m crying at DEERS

FRG meeting

I was told there would be snacks

Instead, there are slides

Spouse Facebook pages

Chock full of information

JK, mostly memes

You’re my friend soulmate

But you’re moving to Hawaii

Forever alone

I’m not the soldier

But we share a bank account

Please don’t charge my bag

Honey, we’re moving

And guess what? Hello, Europe!

Never mind it’s Polk

My dryer is black

But in my rage I see red

Take your dang pens out

Military ball

Who the heck are these people

I need more wine, please

On Post or Off Post

One costs more than BAH

The other has mold

Heart is aflutter

Homecoming kiss and hello

Makes it all worth it

More than a saying

Home’s Where the Army Sends You

My home is your heart

Bloom where you’re planted

And if it is a desert

Just be a cactus

The Days Are Long as a Milspouse

If you’ve read any of my blog submissions on Mission Milspouse lately, you’ll likely see a pattern where I have been mostly writing about what I’ve learned being a military spouse for the past twenty years but in presented in slightly different ways. In addition to...
