AWTR Show #810, Double Feature: “I Move A Lot And That’s Okay” & Travelers Haven

It’s double feature day here at AWTR!

First, Shermaine Perry-Knights shares some shrewd insights on how to deal with an upcoming PCS. Growing up as a military child herself, Shermaine was able to draw from personal experience to put into words all of the emotions that happen during a PCS. She reminds us to give ourselves space to validate our feelings during these moves. Military children are resilient, being able to deal with the level of change that happens in the military. These insights are especially poignant during April, the Month of the Military Child. I Move A Lot—And That’s Okay allows children to project their feelings onto the character of the book and open a conversation with parents about the upcoming PCS.

Shermaine Perry-Knights is an award-winning facilitator, project manager, speaker, and author. As a Certified Professional in Talent Development, Shermaine is passionate about helping others develop emotional intelligence and leadership skills. Each of her published books supports the growth mindset (self-care, resilience, and career readiness). Shermaine Perry-Knights has authored guided journals, youth and adult coloring books, and a children’s book. All are available here.
