AWTR Show #812: Military Spouse Advocacy Network

As a military spouse, have you ever googled something relating to a PCS, or a form you needed, or an acronym you heard… Wouldn’t it be so much better to simply ask someone? Well, let us introduce you to a winner of our AWN Empowers awardMilitary Spouse Advocacy Network (MSAN).

MSAN is an amazing non-profit on a mission to create stronger military families through education, empowerment, and support. Whitney Armstrong explains how with more than 150 trained military spouse volunteer mentors, MSAN has created a peer-to-peer mentorship hub. An organization created by military spouses for military spouses, MSAN is looking to build long-term connections and lift other military spouses up. Each military spouse has a unique story and MSAN wants to hear that story. Whitney and MSAN are here to let military spouses know that they’re not alone.

Whitney Armstrong has spent nearly a decade caring for and advocating on behalf of military families. As an Air Force spouse with a servant heart and dedication to improving the communities around her, her role at MSAN aligns perfectly with her ability to work collaboratively with organizations, businesses, and donors to achieve the mission of supporting, educating, and empowering military spouses and families.

Military Spouse Advocacy Network was selected as a 2020 award winner for their New Military Spouse Support Program, which provides thousands of new military spouses the opportunity to receive peer-to-peer mentorship from the time they become new military spouses through the time they PCS for the first time. This program is available to all new military spouses including National Guard & Reserve components in locations around the world. The program is also available inside the Air Force’s Basic Military Training and continues to expand to other installations and support agencies.
