7 Reasons I’m Thankful For My Child
It’s November, and it’s time to start thinking about all the things I’m thankful for. There are so many things I could list this year, but one there’s one thing I’ve been especially grateful for—my child. I’m truly thankful for the opportunity and privilege to be a mother.
There are countless reasons my little one has changed my life for the better, but here are just a few reasons I’m thankful to have her:
1. She’s a constant reminder of her dad.
She constantly brings a smile to my face when she acts or talks like her dad. She’s like him in so many ways! He may be gone, but she reminds me of him every day. I’m so thankful that I have her in my life as a piece of him
2. I get to love this little person every day.
I never thought I could love someone so much! She is my sidekick and buddy, and I am more than lucky to have her in my life.
3. She keeps me going even during the worst of times.
We’ve been through so much during her four years, and she’s kept me going. I’ve had some dark days, and through it all, she’s been the light of my life. She’s my inspiration and motivation to be a better me.
4. I get to see the world through a toddler’s eyes.
There’s nothing more amazing than seeing the world through a toddler’s eyes! Everything is “the best.” The world is a positive and wonderful place full of great people. As an adult, it’s easy to become jaded, but a kid, especially with their brutal honesty, can remind you how the world should be.
5. I get to do kid stuff.
I love to dress up for Halloween, go to the zoo, have awesome birthday parties, watch kid’s movies, dress like a princess, and act silly on a regular basis with my daughter. It’s the best excuse to act like a kid and have so much fun doing it.
6. She reminds me that there’s a big world out there.
There’s a big world out there, full of new and exciting things—even things I’ve seen a million times. A little kid being excited about their world is contagious, and I love to catch it.
7. I have the best job title ever—Mommy.
The best job title I have ever had is mom. Being a mom isn’t always perfect—believe me. I usually have a weekly case of mom guilt and lots of second guessing my skills, but even with all that, it’s still my favorite job.
