A Resilient Nation Built on HOPE

resilience | noun

1. the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness.

2. the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity.

America has always been shaped by our resilience. We’ve endured multiple wars: one that gave us our freedom, one that threatened to tear us apart, and two that involved attacks on US soil.

We’ve faced economic depression, fought against civil injustices, and worked for a better tomorrow. Even now, as we face an unprecedented pandemic that has turned our lives upside down, we are working together and taking care of each other.

We are resilient throughout it all.

Hope For The Warriors believes the foundation for becoming a better person, a better community, a better nation, is hope.

Hope drives action to live healthier, more resilient, more inclusive. We have served veteran and military families since 2006 and offer virtual programs that promote well-being through physical and emotional wellness, financial stability, and community connection. Our mission is to serve those who’ve answered the call of service since September 11.

Now, we all need to be reminded of what makes America resilient.

For a Resilient Warrior Community

HOPE has taken our life-changing programs for the warrior community and transformed them into virtual resources to help build a “Resilient Nation.” A Resilient Nation starts with each individual, and so do our programs and services. Although HOPE has served more than 30,000 warriors since 2006, each warrior who comes to us for services is on an individual journey, and part of that journey is connecting to various communities for support.

Resilient Warrior and Resilient Family

Resilient Warrior is designed to help a service member or veteran cope with stressful events, teaching one to control his or her mind and body’s responses to stress. The six-week course is free to warriors, and its counterpart, Resilient Family, is free for military spouses and adult caregivers who provide support.

Team Hope For The Warriors

Our Sports and Recreation Team uses virtual platforms such as Soflete, Strava, and Virtual Runs to engage runners in healthy practices, train for marathons in support of HOPE, and build physical strength and resiliency. As we’re all staying home and practicing social distancing, Team HOPE serves as a virtual community for our warriors to provide support, inspiration, and camaraderie as they continue their physical journeys.

Warrior’s Compass

When job expos and professional conferences are being canceled across the country, one of HOPE’s transition programs, Warrior’s Compass, is a powerful online platform for veterans and military spouses that provides access to tele-mentors and resources keeping job-seekers actively engaged in professional development. In addition, Warrior’s Compass offers resources for employers who are seeking to hire veterans and military spouses, bridging the gap between both sides of the search.

For a Resilient Nation

The warriors that we serve are some of the most resilient people we know. We’ve witnessed them embarking on their journeys of transition to civilian life, growing their professional identities, improving their health and well-being, and strengthening their minds and bodies. In today’s America, everyone is a warrior—everyone is adapting to change, dealing with the stress of this crisis, and becoming stronger for it, more resilient. And that’s why we want to work alongside our extended community through additional programming and empower everyone to feel like a Resilient American.

For a Resilient American

Our newest program, Resilient American, offers live virtual classes by a licensed provider that takes a team through various exercises and techniques to help them cope with stress, similar to the Resilient Warrior and Resilient Family classes we provide for service members, military members, and their families. It is designed so that topics can be customized to achieve the goals and needs of a company while offering a mental getaway from the workday and helping your company find strength amid change.

Individually, we are all Resilient Americans. We each have our own roles, our own strengths, and our own ways to contribute to society. At Hope For The Warriors, we want to empower each of you to embrace those qualities that make you resilient. Together, we make up a Resilient Nation: America.

Hope For The Warriors

Founded in 2006, Hope For The Warriors is a national nonprofit dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family and hope for post-9/11 veterans, service members, and military families. What began as post-combat bedside care and support has evolved to a national organization that has adapted to ongoing changes within the military community. The organization has stayed the course with our country’s post-9/11 veteran population as physical wounds healed, but emotional wounds still needed care. Since its inception, Hope For The Warriors has served over 23,200 through a variety of support programs focused on clinical health and wellness, sports and recreation, and transition.
