Military News You Can Use:
The popular Soldiers’ Angels Adopt-A-Family program has returned for the 2016 holiday season. Through this unique annual program, sponsors can “adopt” a military or veteran family for the holiday season. The sponsor then provides gifts for the children as well as a grocery gift card or prepaid credit card for the family to purchase their holiday dinner and trimmings. The goal in helping these military and veteran families is to show America’s gratitude for the sacrifices they have made in service to our country. Without the assistance of programs like the Adopt-A-Family program, many military and veteran families would go without any type of holiday celebration.
The program is open to families of deployed service members and families of post 9-11 wounded, ill, and injured service members. Selection for the program is need-based, as determined by Soldiers’ Angels representatives. Soldiers’ Angels will be registering 1,000 military and veteran families this holiday season. The program is now open for military family registration.
Those interested in signing up to become a sponsor and adopt a family will need to join Soldiers’ Angels as a Team Angel. By becoming a Team Angel, individuals will be able to not only adopt a military family for the holidays, but also adopt deployed service members, join the letter writing team, sewing team, baking team, or choose from any of the 12 volunteer teams that work year-round to support military service members, their families, and the growing veteran population. Sponsors are now available to begin the “adoption” process for Soldiers’ Angels Adopt-A-Family program.
