AWTR Show #832, Double Feature: “Days of Fury” & First Command

Welcome to another double feature of Army Wife Talk Radio! First up is Mike Guardia, author of Days of Fury: Ghost Troop and the Battle of 73 Easting. Mike took on the difficult task of giving readers a glimpse into what happens on the front lines. He also wanted to show people the downstream effects of what happens when you send people into harm’s way. Mike was able to put the human element onto paper. This book is an intimate, no-holds-barred portrayal of modern warfare as told by the men who lived it. Day’s of Fury is a companion piece to The Fires of Babylon: Eagle Troop and the Battle of 73 Easting.

Mike Guardia is an internationally-recognized author and military historian. A veteran of the United States Army, he served six years on active duty as an armor officer. He is the author of the widely-acclaimed Hal Moore: A Soldier Once…and Always, the first-ever biography chronicling the life of Lt. Gen. Harold G. Moore, whose battlefield leadership was popularized by the film We Were Soldiers starring Mel Gibson.

Sponsoring this podcast episode is First Command Financial Services with a special feature interview by Jennifer Berlin, Vice President of Division Operations—Northeast.

Jennifer Berlin is a military spouse who experienced frequent PCS moves. Every time her husband moved, she had to search for a new job, starting and stopping with each location transition. Then one day, a First Command team member said, “What if I could tell you your resume would only have First Command on it for the rest of your career?” That made Jennifer stop and think. Since First Command is a company founded by the military for the military, she quickly fell in love with it. Now, Jennifer is giving back to the same community who did so much for her.

Listen in and then connect with First Command on their website, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
