AWTR Show #834: 10,000 Miles: A Tribute to Military Families

“10,000 miles never felt so far” as when you cannot call the one person you want to talk to. Military families go through this experience a lot over the course of a military career. When your significant other is in harm’s way, so far away, even the best day can be hard to get through.

For Dariann Leigh, country music always felt like home. She works hard to create that special moment when people connect to your song. Music has this beautiful ability to bring together people who don’t seem to have much in common. Dariann’s latest song, “10,000 Miles” is all about her vulnerability and raw emotions of handling her boyfriend being deployed with the Marine Corps.

Dariann has made waves in the Midwest with multiple Midwest Country Music Award nominations, and wherever she goes, from Nashville to touring country-wide, she is turning heads. From gracing the cover of Grand Lifestyle Magazine to appearing as a featured artist for Prairie Musicians on PBS, Dariann combines big city beauty with small town humility. Filled with grace and ingenuity, she is a solid representation of the role model we hope young girls follow.
