AWTR Show # 945: A Surprising Way to Make AND Keep Milspouse Friends

On today’s episode, Lindsey makes her debut podcast appearance to talk about milspouse friendships. For many of us making milspouse friends is a new and unique experience. In the civilian world, most people make friends based on shared interests. One of the most beautiful aspects of milspouse life is making friends with people who have different interests than you. Lindsey offers some tips to unlock the secret to making and keeping milspouse friends.

The secret: It starts and ends with you. Lindsey walks us through three tips to make and keep friends in the milspouse world.

1. Be you. Know your self-worth. Be at peace with yourself. Know you have something to offer.
2. Be at peace with your closest relationships. Work on your relationships with the family and friends you have in your lives now. When everything else may be chaotic in our lives, you need your closest interpersonal relationships to be stable and balanced.
3. Be graceful. Be intentional about not being easily offended. We all have bad days or awkward moments but try to lean into your ability to have grace for others.

People are drawn to you when you have a peace about you. When you shine your best light and genuinely want to see those in your lives succeed and support them.

Lindsey challenges you to go out and be a healthier you to make new relationships or mend old relationships. You can make and keep milspouse friends! Thanks for another great episode, Lindsey!
