Ohana Homefront Celebrates a Year of Service to the Military Community

October is not only the beginning of SPOOKY month BUT it’s also the month that Ohana Homefront was founded!  Ohana Homefront Foundation was founded on October 4th, 2021 which means that Ohana is now 1 years old!

One Year of reflection and gratitude.

The Ohana Homefront Foundation was founded on October 4, 2021 by myself, (Ret.) Navy MilSpouse, Sarah Otto, and Marine MilSpouse, Natalie Ealy. Both Natalie & I have been MilSpouses for over 2 decades and have a heart for the Military Community as a whole.

We realize there is a gap when it comes to Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention and want to make sure that EVERYONE in the Military Community is receiving the care that they need to their Mental Health.

As we celebrate our 1-year anniversary, we would like to pause to express gratitude. So much awesomeness has occurred since OHF was founded.

Our team at Ohana is all volunteer.

Today, OHF has an 8 member Board of Directors, 9 member operations team and 14 mental health team members.  Everyone with OHF is a volunteer and are working to bring awareness to help bring an end to Suicide within the Military Community.

Ohana Homefront Foundation volunteers help with events, gathering local resources, social media, peer-to-peer support, life coaching, health coaching and so much more.

Ohana Homefront Foundation Counselors are licensed and ready to assist anyone within the Military Community during a crisis.

We are thankful for our military community.

Truly, the past year has been an exercise in gratitude. Our military community has been so encouraging to OHF and we feel so thankful to all who have helped us grow to where we are at this moment and to those that help us to continue to grow.

The opportunity to take a focused approach to building, strengthening and expanding our behavioral health system is something the Ohana Homefront Foundation is working on. In the meantime, each of us can play a role in promoting collaboration as we seek to ensure there is no wrong door to mental health services.

Remember, it’s okay to not be okay.

Reach out to the Ohana Homefront Foundation at any time if you need assistance or would like to volunteer to help our Military Community.

You can learn more about OHF & all the ways you can join help at www.ohanahomefront.org

Happy one year to all Ohana Homefront Foundation supporters. We love you!

Warmest regards,

Sarah (Natalie & Team OHF)
