Additional $800M in Aid for Ukraine
“An additional $800 million drawdown package of security assistance is on its way to Ukraine,” reported the Department of Defense. Some of the equipment that will be sent to Ukraine includes 18 155 Howitzers, 40,000 artillery rounds, and counterartillery and Sentinel air surveillance radar systems. Additionally, armored Humvees, Armored Personnel Carriers, 11 Mi-17 helicopters, drones, medical equipment, Javelin missiles, body armor, helmets and more will be included in this aid package.
Air Force & Space Force Approve 35 Days of Leave for Fertility Treatments
The Air Force and Space Force have just approved a new policy allowing up to 35 days of Permissive Temporary Duty if they are undergoing fertility treatments to start families, reported Military.com.
“My wife and I have had our own struggles with starting a family, so I recognize what a strain this can be on our Airmen and Guardians, personally and financially,” said Secretary of the Air Force, Frank Kendall. “I wholeheartedly support this program, and I hope our teammates take full advantage of it.” There are six facilities that are authorized to give fertility treatments: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland; Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii; Womack Army Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina; Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington; San Antonio Military Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas; and Naval Medical Center San Diego in San Diego, California.
AAFES Celebrates Month of the Military Child
The Army & Air Force Exchange Service is celebrating Month of the Military Child by offering toys and prizes. Through April 30, authorized shoppers can enter to win one of 60 toys and 31 gift cards valued at $250 each.
“The Exchange is all in to give back to military children during this special month,” said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Kevin Osby, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “It’s important for Americans to honor the children of Warfighters. They serve too!”
