Time for A Vacation (Finally!)
When was the last time you went on vacation?
Whether alone or with friends or family, everyone deserves time to get recharged and do something fun. Vacations or time away from daily grinds are great for your mental health, and who doesn’t like taking time to relax, try out new restaurants, or do a little leisure shopping? I know I sure do!
Something about summer vacations feel so freeing and fresh. No matter what, you should always try and make time for you and your family to just get away and relax a little. I’m excited to say that for the first time in years (which felt like forever) we are finally going on a family vacation!
Before my sons were born, my husband was gone a lot, and I was rarely home due to my job and night classes. When we had time, we’d do weekend getaways that were to local spots or destinations that were about three hours away or less. We didn’t get as much time as we would have liked, but we figured the day would come when we could take some time to ourselves and enjoy a long vacation.
Six long years later, we’re afforded the opportunity…
…except this time we have two little ones in tow.
This trip is exciting and incredibly special because we’re going to see some of my family that we haven’t seen in a few years. I have missed my side of our extended family terribly, and I’m so thankful that we’re about to visit them.
Leading up to our long-awaited vacation was a bit stressful. Traveling with just you and/or your partner is one thing. Having to travel with one toddler and a 6-month-old is an entirely different ball game! Both my husband and I had to triple check that we had everything we needed for our children along with extra clothes, diapers, undies, and pump supplies. At first it felt overwhelming, but after planning and packing accordingly, I felt better.
We were able to find pet sitters, pre-purchase some tickets to surprise the kids with an aquarium trip, and plan a much-needed date night at my favorite fusion sushi restaurant.
I cannot be more excited than I already am to make memories with our little family! I’m very much looking forward to spending quality time and getting a much-needed recharge.

So glad you got to travel, Anastassia! Such adventures– and yes, those travels change drastically when Tiny Humans are in the mix.
Our two kids, dog, turtle, and I “reverse snowbird-ed” from El Paso to Kansas and South Dakota this summer. Side trips included Sandusky, OH, Detroit, MI and Branson, MO. It was fun and I’m glad we did it, but super thankful to be HOME again 🙂 Thanks for sharing this with us!
