5 Apps to Get You Organized
For many, the new year is a chance to start with a clean slate and an opportunity to create goals to help us live our best life. This month, Army Wife Network experience contributors will be giving you information on how to kick off the new year right, by helping you make goals, getting you organized, and providing helpful resources to keep you on track and living your best year yet.
To kick off this new year, I’ve done some research and discovered some apps that will help get you on your way to a more organized year. Being more organized has proven to cause less stress and higher work production. Being organized can be very beneficial to your overall health and well-being.
Here are the five apps you should download to start on the road to an organized life:
1. Key Ring
This app allows you to stop carrying all those reward cards on your key ring or in your wallet. You simply upload your reward card information, then swipe your phone at the store. The app tracks your reward information straight from your cell phone.
Available on Android, Apple, Blackberry, and Windows
2. RedLaser
This app allows you to compare prices on an item simply by scanning the barcode. It will show you comparable prices from all over the web, including BestBuy, Amazon, Walmart, and local stores. It can also show you nutritional information on food items and tell you if a local library has a book you have been looking for.
Available on Android, Apple, and Windows
3. LastPass
When everything we do online requires passwords and as times progress, those passwords have to be more and more involved, it can be hard to remember them all. That is where LastPass comes in. It will store all your passwords in one place. It too requires a password, but that means you only have to remember one, instead of a gazillion. LastPass can also store information to help make filling out online forms easier, and it can be synced across browsers.
Available on Android, Apple, Windows, Blackberry, Mac, Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, Symbian, and Chrome
4. CardMunch
Tired of sorting through tons of business cards or finding a place to store them all? Well, CardMunch is here to rescue you. This free app allows you to capture a photo of a business card and instantly turn it into a contact, allowing you to ditch the business card. This app is associated with LinkedIn as well and can provide LinkedIn information on a contact as well.
Available on Apple.
5. Cozi
I have saved the best for last. If you’re looking for an all-in-one app for organizing your calendar, meals, to-do list, and more, then this is the app for you. I use it, and while it has a free version, I would highly recommend investing in the Gold Membership. It is a low, yearly fee, and it enhances your Cozi experience even more. Cozi allows you to track your calendar and will sync with other online calendars. Cozi will also allow you to plan your meals and generate a shopping list, which you can then access from your phone while shopping. No more carrying paper around the aisles. You can also track various to-do lists, and the whole family can get involved on this one with color-coded appointments for each family member.
Available on Apple, Android, and Windows.
There are many other apps out there that can also be helpful in leading you to a more organized life. Be sure to do your research and find ones that work for you and your family. We hope these get you off to a great new year and a more organized year ahead!
