Dreaming About My Husband’s Return
I’ve been dreaming about my husband’s return since the minute he left for his tour a year ago. By the time my posts goes live, we’ll have already moved my belongings from New York to Virginia and spent a few days together. It’s crazy to think that it’s all coming so quickly!
Isn’t that how it always goes?
At the beginning of any long tour, it goes by s0 slowly. When I got back to my house last January, I cried and immediately became stir crazy. I was angry and scared. I also dreaded having to wait a year to see my husband regularly. It wasn’t so pleasant to be myself a year ago.
Now, there isn’t enough time in the day for me to get myself together! The time I’ve been (mostly) patiently waiting for is less than two weeks away! In the middle of everything, I made a much needed trip to my home state (Texas, in case you were wondering) to be with family for Christmas into the New Year (another reason is I’m planning our church wedding in between our PCS).
Needless to say, I did keep myself crazy busy during his tour, and I thrive in a fast-paced environment. Everyone asks me if I’m excited for our wedding. Actually, I’m more excited to see my husband again and actually acting like a married couple. I’m looking forward to coming home to each other and having a live person to snuggle instead of a pillow.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m really excited to celebrate our marriage with family and friends, too! This will be the first time all my loved ones will be in one room. It’s a little surreal to think that people from Pennsylvania, New York, Mississippi, and Texas (among others) will be with us.
I have lots to look forward to in 2014, and I’m so anxious to get it started. I’m pretty excited to share how it feels to be a “legit” military spouse, too. In 2014, I’ll be living close to an installation, experiencing everything military life has to offer, and more!
I’ll even have a husband that’s in the same vicinity as me.
Here’s to 2014, spouses (and our service member-loved ones, if they read, too!)! I’m going to be riding into 2014 with a bang! How about yourselves?
Congrats! And welcome to the Army life. Sometimes it sucks, sometimes it’s wonderful. But it’s never dull. 🙂
Welcome to the official “dependant” side! :). We’re welcoming our third baby, celebrating 9 years marriage, and hopefully a promtion this year!!! 2014 is going to be awesome.
Yay for your husband being home, and for your church wedding being soon!! I’m counting the days now till Mark’s back and till our church wedding AND our PCS! 2014 is gonna be an AWESOME year. 🙂
