Meet Sarah
Hi, everyone! My name is Sarah, and I am so excited to be a part of AWN.
I grew up in a small southern New Jersey town, and I am definitely a Jersey girl at heart. I hate (no, despise!) pumping gas, I grew up living “down the shore” in the summer, I am picky about my produce, and I put jimmies (not sprinkles) on my ice cream.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and my Master’s degree in Medical Sciences to become a Physician Assistant. I moved to Albany, NY, to pursue a job as a surgical PA right out of school.
Shortly after I moved to Albany, I met a wonderful man at the gym. I instantly knew he was someone special, and it wasn’t long before we were inseparable. He is my best friend. He also happens to be an officer in the Army National Guard.
We have built a wonderful life together so far, and it is only the beginning.
We have an 8-year-old black lab Australian shepherd mix named Buck. He is the most lovable dog in the 
world and is a great protector to have during Manny’s times away. We enjoy traveling, taking long walks, and spending time with family.
In my free time I enjoy exercising. I am always looking for new types of workouts to try, but lately I have been enjoying Crossfit, kickboxing, and running. I am working toward becoming a personal trainer and would eventually like to do that in my free time.
We currently have the better half of Manny’s first deployment under our belts. And as if we don’t already have enough going on, we are buying a new-construction home, so we have been enjoying making all of the
decisions that come along with that.
I never imagined we would be design our dream home over FaceTime in twenty minute increments, but one thing I’ve learned so far is that anything is possible when you find the right person!
I feel like I could write a book about what I have learned so far being a military spouse, and it is only the beginning. I am so proud of Manny and so proud to be a part of this community.
I hope that I can help others in the same way that this blog has helped me.
